Heights Canine worked wonders on our two rescues. We took our first dog there after we got her and did private lessons and saw so much improvement that when we got our second dog it was a no brainer to take them together. We did a 30 day board and train to adjust some manners and leash behavior and they came back new dogs. They are so much more confident in their interactions with each other, other dogs and people.
We are so grateful to have worked with the Heights team, they made our pups the best!
We love taking them for doggy daycare and boarding when we are gone because we know they will be well taken care of and treated like one of the Heights’ teams own.
It’s hard to express how grateful I am for David and the whole staff at Heights Canine. I’ve had some very problematic rescues come into my home and heart over the years and thanks to their extremely knowledgeable team, I can enjoy my days with a well trained and mannered pup. Their board and train services are a must if you have aggressive or otherwise very reactive dog, our results with said training changed our lives. Not only did they help our dogs with their less than well behaved qualities, they helped me become a better dog owner with all the practices and procedures I’ve learned from the staff. Life has been much better for us and our dogs since working with Heights Canine. You guys rule. 10/10.
I had adopted my current pup with no experience of actually training a dog how to behave. I was at my wit’s end: he was extremely reactive and even aggressive to dogs as we passed by them on our daily walks, towards people, and even cars! Bodi was dreadful on a leash — trying with a Halti didn’t work — and he didn’t come back when called. After picking up my kid from his 30 day board and train, it was like I picked up a brand new dog! Bodi walks beautifully, heeling even when off-leash. His bed stay is perfect and he’s even more of a joy to have now!
My two year old pitbull, Olive, is the definition of anxious energy. Every day was a challenge, from pulling to aggression and everything in between. A few months ago I was fearful that I wouldn’t be able to handle her anymore, that’s when a family member suggested I contact these guys. From day one David helped create this new incredible bond between her and I, teaching me how to communicate and teaching her how to redirect all of that energy. We had six one on one sessions and he even spent a day with her alone working on socialization. That combined with a lot of at home consistency with the skills we learned has worked miracles. They really go above and beyond, even now that our sessions are finished, to make sure that she’s on the right path. It’s easy to see how much they really care about the valuable work they are doing. Highly recommend.
My family and I adopted our Bulldog Tillman from the County Kennel in November 2015. We couldn’t believe our luck at finding such a beautiful dog at the pound. Soon after adopting him we discovered that he had some behavioral issues and major aggression toward other dogs. I cried many a night thinking we had made a mistake adopting him. A friend of mine referred me to Heights Canine and after meeting with David we decided to start with 6 training sessions. At the first session just the sight of another dog made Tillman go crazy so we just worked on some basic training commands. By the 6th session Tillman knew all of the basic commands and was even able to be in the same room with 2 other dogs without losing his mind. We are now able to control Tillman’s bad behavior at home with the training techniques that we have learned from David. We still have a bit of work to do on his aggression with other dogs but he has come a long way in a short time. I am very pleased with the training that David has given and have already started referring Heights Canine to others in need.
If you’re even thinking about possibly getting your dog trained by Heights- do it. I have a three year old rescue pitbull that I’ve had for one year. I had some recent issues with my dog not playing nicely with other dogs and contacted David. He suggested a free evaluation to really get to know my dog and his personality/behavior habits and formulated a plan to fix his behaviors and clean up his obedience- which I learned go hand in hand. My dog did a week of board and train and David wanted to make sure he had him long enough to fix his behaviors before he came back home with me. I can honestly say there is a night and day difference for my stubborn dog who had no previous training before I had him. Each time I take him for a walk I am in shock- I am used to him pulling and walking all over the place and he walks right by my side with a loose leash… His energy levels are controlled around other dogs.. And so much more. David and his team not only care about your dog but you and he will make sure you know how to help continue the training at home and make sure you are able to live a stress-free lifestyle with your dog. Worth every penny.
